Lead organization

The Centre for Community Based Research (CCBR) is the lead organization coordinating CU Expo 2011.

CCBR is focused on strengthening communities through social research. Founded in 1982, CCBR believes in the power of knowledge to impact positive social change. We are passionate about bringing people together to use knowledge to provide real and innovative solutions to community needs. CCBR's approach to research is participatory and action-oriented in a way that mobilizes people to participate as full and equal members of society.

Major Partner

As a major partner, Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) is fully supporting CU Expo in lieu of its own major conference in 2011. A discounted registration rate will be offered to CCPH members.

CCPH is a nonprofit organization that promotes health (broadly defined) through partnerships between communities and higher educational institutions. Founded in 1996, CCPH is a growing network of over 2,000 communities and campuses across North America, and increasingly the world, that are collaborating to promote health through service-learning, community-based participatory research, broad-based coalitions and other partnership strategies.

Global Partner

University-Community Partnership for Social Action Research Network (UCP-SARnet) is a global partner of CU Expo 2011.

UCP-SARnet is a global internet community of about 900 faculty members, students and community activists involved in realizing of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
