Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still submit an abstract? No, the call for proposals closed in September 2010, and the accept/decline notices were sent on December 6th. We have a full roster of fantastic sessions, and cannot make any exceptions to consider further proposals.
What day and time is my session scheduled for? The concurrent sessions listing has been posted by day. The final session placements will be posted in March. See here for the preliminary program.
Can I register for only the day of my presentation? One-day registrations are available only to a limited number of local community members. The conference is planned as a whole, with themes, issues, discussions, and events that will run throughout the days, so you’ll want to be with us for the entire time!
I don’t know what day my session is scheduled for – should I continue to wait to register? No, there is no advantage to waiting. If you want to benefit from the early bird registration rate, please don’t wait for the March 1st deadline, when our system may experience quite heavy traffic.
Why is the amount charged to my credit card different from the amount on my registration receipt? Our registration rates, and the receipt you receive, are in Canadian dollars. If your credit card is on an account in any other currency (e.g. US dollars), the amount you see on your credit card will reflect the currency exchange when you paid. As well, your bank may levy a small fee for credit card transactions in another currency. If you have questions about the amount that appears on your statement, please contact your bank or credit card company for more information.
I’m thinking of booking a room in residence. What will my dorm room be like? Please follow the links on our website to the web pages for the University residences. If, after viewing the information in their pages you still have questions, please contact the residence in question directly.
Are meals included in the registration package? You are responsible for your own breakfasts, which, in most cases, are included in the price of your dorm room or hotel. You’ll need to check this with the venue with which you make your booking. With your conference fees you will receive the following food: finger food at the cocktail reception on the evening of May 10th; lunch on each of the three days of the conference; and banquet dinner on May 11th.
